Atlanta-based cold-storage provider Americold on Tuesday announced that Jeffrey Gault has been appointed president and CEO, effective immediately.

Gault, a director at Americold, succeeds Jos Opdeweegh, who resigned for personal reasons.

Gault has more than 40 years of experience in leading and developing business enterprises. He has previously held senior executive positions at H.F. Ahmanson & Co., Home Savings of America, Sun America and KB Homes. He has also been a managing partner of joint ventures with affiliates of Whitehall Funds/Goldman Sachs and Northstar Realty Finance.

“We are pleased and fortunate that Jeff has accepted this appointment,” said Ron Burkle, managing partner of Yucaipa, Americold’s largest shareholder. “Jeff is a proven leader with a track record of exceptional business and leadership success.”
