Norway fish oil producer appoints new CEO

Norwegian fish protein and fish oil producer Scanbio Marine Group has named a member of its board of directors its new CEO.

John Binde will assume his new position on 1 August. Binde served for 10 years as CEO of Norway Royal Salmon, during which the salmon farming company’s market capitalization went from USD 10 million (EUR 9 million) to USD 370 million (EUR 331.9 million). He also served prior to Royal Salmon as CEO and in other executive roles at various Norwegian companies.

"John has the strong track record and deep operational experience to drive the execution of Scanbio's strategy,” said Scanbio Chairman David Buckeridge. “I am confident that with John overseeing the operations of the company, Scanbio will continue to enhance the range of value added services it provides to salmon farmers, create demand for its differentiated product offering, and accelerate its international expansion."

Most recently, Binde has been serving since November 2014 as an operating director at private equity firm and Scanbio owner Paine & Partners. Scanbio said Binde was “a recent addition to the Scanbio board of directors.”

"It is an honor to join the team at Scanbio," Binde said. "I look forward to working with David and the Scanbio team to build on the Company's strong momentum and capitalize on opportunities to unlock Scanbio's tremendous potential."
