O’Brien named CEO of seafood distributor Santa Monica Seafood

Longtime advisor Roger O’Brien is the new CEO of U.S. seafood distributor Santa Monica Seafood, the company announced this week. O’Brien has also been elected to the company’s board of directors.

“For the past 10 years, Roger has worked as our Executive Board Advisor and during the majority of that time, has served as the company’s de-facto CEO,” said Anthony Cigliano, president and chairman of the board. “Roger’s impact has been enormous, with his playing a significant role in the creation of our business strategies and guiding the growth of our brand. We’re extremely fortunate he’s elected to join us on a full-time basis as we look to the future.”

O’Brien, a graduate of UCLA, will lead the Rancho Dominguez, Calif.-based company’s long-term business goals. He has a strong background in finance, having worked as a CPA for Arthur Andersen & Co. for many years.

Although he will now focus his efforts solely on Santa Monica Seafood, O’Brien will continue to be a Board Director of Catalina Sea Ranch, a marine technology company and the first offshore shellfish ranch in U.S. federal waters.
