Nick Furman, longtime executive director of the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission (ODCC), announced his retirement on 1 October.
Furman steps down after 22 years at the helm of the group.
Staff member Hugh Link has been appointed interim administrator while the search for Furman’s replacement continues.
“Furman’s leadership and commitment to Oregon’s crab industry will be missed,” said John Corbin, ODCC chairman. “Many of the positive developments in the fishery, as well as the marketplace, occurred during his tenure.”
