Online newsroom re-launched for Isaac updates

The Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board (LSPMB) has re-launched its newsroom, louisianaseafoodnews.com, an online resource for the seafood industry and media offering the latest news about the Louisiana seafood industry.

The newsroom was re-launched just shy of the 7th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and as Hurricane Isaac approached the Louisiana coastline. The site will communicate frequently updated information related to the storm and the seafood industry’s preparations and response.

“The newsroom has been a useful vehicle to inform media and others interested in significant issues affecting the Louisiana seafood industry. With Hurricane Isaac bearing down on our Gulf Coast, this was the perfect opportunity to support our industry and let the newsroom again do what it is meant to do,” said Ewell Smith, LSPMB executive director.

“We have done a fair amount of industry education on the newsroom site, often including nuances people didn't know about an issue. What always stays with readers is the steadfast spirit of our Louisiana fishermen.”

In addition to up-to-date information about issues affecting the Louisiana seafood industry, high-resolution photos and broadcast-quality HD video are available.
