Record 4Q for Aker Seafoods

A bigger catch has resulted in a record fourth quarter for Aker Seafoods.

The Oslo-listed company announced its results for the fourth quarter of 2011 on Thursday, including a NOK 20 million increase in operating income to NOK 29 million.

Fourth-quarter sales came to NOK 201 million, up NOK 41 million from the fourth quarter of 2010. For the year, the company’s EBITDA totaled NOK 232 million, up from NOK 171 million in 2010. Sales for the year amounted to NOK 863 million.

Also in the fourth quarter of 2011, the company’s total harvest volumes were up 25 percent from the same period in 2010.

Aker added that the resource situation for 2012 looks good, with an increased Barents Sea cod quota.
