The expo returns for its 31st edition in Barcelona, Spain next week, bringing the world’s seafood companies and stakeholders to the Mediterranean city for business, fun, and delicious dishes.

Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global returns for its 31st edition in Barcelona, Spain next week, bringing the world’s seafood companies and stakeholders to the Mediterranean city for business, fun, and delicious dishes.

The expo – which opens on Tuesday, 6 May at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue and runs through Thursday, 8 May – will cover over 51,000 net square meters of exhibition space and feature 63 national and regional pavilions, a conference program, and more.

Many countries and regions will be represented at this year’s expo, including, , Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Italy, Japan, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Reunion, Turkey, United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam. The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), Japan Federation of Soy Sauce Manufacturers Cooperatives, ProEcuador, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, and Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial, IVACE (Spain) are some of the pavilions available to explore down on the show floor.

Key industry leaders from all around the world will also be exhibiting in Barcelona, including AquaChile, Balfego & Balfego, Cermaq Norway, Cooke, Denholm Seafoods Ltd, Frime, S.A.U., Gelazur, Godaco Seafood JCS, Grupo Profand SLU, Hofseth International, Iceland Seafood International, Lerøy Seafood Group ASA, Mowi ASA, Nueva Pescanova, Nordic Seafood A/S, Ocean Treasure World Foods Limited, Parlevliet & van der Plas Bv, Phillips Foods Inc, Regal Springs AG, Royal Greenland A/S, Salmar AS, Seafood Connection Bv, Sea Harvest Corporation (Pty) Ltd, Sea Pride LLC, Viciunai Group, Vinh Hoan Corporation, Worldwide Fishing Company SL, Unima, and Zalmhuys Group. 

The Seafood Processing Global exhibition area will highlight even more companies involved in seafood processing and services, including AKVA Group, Ace Aquatech, BAADER, Cocci Luciano, Delanchy, CMA CGM, Fishtek Marine, Instituto Social de la Marina, Mediterranean Shipping Company, Lineage, Maersk, Marel, MMC First Process, MULTIVAC Sepp Haggenmüller SE & Co. KG, Saeplast, and Stingray Marine Solutions AS.

A three-day comprehensive conference program will also be featured at the 2025 expo, with more than 20 informative sessions to experience. Upwards of 80 industry experts are slated to speak at the conference, which includes a keynote address from respected economist Xavier Sala-i-Martin, a Columbia University professor and vice president of the FC Barcelona Foundation. In his address, “The Uncertain New World,” Sala-i-Martin will discuss navigating the new economic uncertainties impacting the global seafood industry and the world at large, from international relations and tariffs to the U.S. slowdown and more. Other sessions will cover aquaculture, sustainability, traceability, consumption trends, industry innovation, marketing, and much more. Don’t miss the announcement of the Seafood Excellence Global awards! The winners will be selected from 40 finalists on the first day of the expo, 6 May, with grand prizes awarded for the Best Retail Product and the Best Hotel/Restaurant/Catering (HORECA) Product. There will also be special awards presented for innovation, convenience, retail packaging, and seafood product line.
