The chief operating officer of Cermaq Chile, Francisco Miranda Morales, left the company earlier this month, according to Cermaq Corporate Affairs Director Lise Bergan.
After more than nine years at Cermaq, including stints at Cermaq Scotland and Cermaq Canada, and five years as the COO of Cermaq Chile, Miranda has joined Equus Milk, a Chiloe, Chile-based company seeking to market donkey milk as a nonallergenic substitute for cow milk, as the company’s executive director, according to his LinkedIn profile.
In Miranda’s place, Cermaq Chile Finance Director Morten Nærland has been appointed acting managing director “and will fill the MD role until a new MD is appointed,” according to Bergan.
"Francisco Miranda has made a unique contribution to Cermaq over almost two decades. There have been many tough years and he has been in a very challenging position,” CEO Geir Molvik said in a prepared statement. “We are grateful for his contribution and wish him all the best as he now leaves Cermaq.”
In other personnel changes for the Oslo, Norway-based salmon and trout farming firm, Patty Mann and Arturo Martinez have joined the company’s sales office in Miami, Florida, U.S.A.. Mann has taken on the role of business development manager and Arturo Martinez will serve as sales manager.
Before joining Cermaq earlier this month, Mann had been working as the fresh division sales manager at Regal Springs Tilapia, and previously held sales roles at Icicle Seafoods, Cooke Aquaculture, Tampa Bay Fisheries, Slade Gorton, and Marine Harvest, according to her LinkedIn page. Martinez spent the previous eight years working at Marine Harvest in various sales positions, most recently as a key account manager.
