Malcom Large takes the helm at FASFA

The Frozen at Sea Fillets Association (FASFA) has announced that John Rutherford will retire and that Malcom Large has been appointed in his place as executive director.

FAFSA is a trade organization representing trawler owners and distributors of frozen-at-sea filleted fish from Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Spain, Russia, Greenland and the United Kingdom.

Large previously worked at seafood body Seafish, which he joined in 1985. Most recently, he held the position of head of international trade and regions.

“FASFA has benefitted vastly over the last period with John Rutherford at the helm. He has driven the association forward adding presence and credibility,” FAFSA said in a statement. “The appointment of Malcolm Large, with his industry knowledge and experience, should allow a seamless transition and a bright future. Malcolm is committed to the ongoing promotion of FAS fillets into the iconic U.K. fish and chip shop market. We look forward to working with him as we feel he is a great catch for the FASFA members.”

Large will take up his position at FASFA on 1 February, 2019.
