For Bangladesh black tiger shrimp (P. monodon), the new cultivation season started from February onwards. While the last three months were focused on preparing ponds, farming has already started from the end of February. Contrary to black tiger shrimp, freshwater prawn (M. rosenbergii) is nearing the end of its cultivation period. This means that by the end of March, both species were relatively scarce, which was reflected in their farm gate prices.
