Alaska’s salmon harvest nears 180 million fish

The commercial wild salmon catch in Alaska had exceeded 177.9 million fish by the end of week 33, according to the latest in-season harvest figures compiled by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G).

In terms of species, the catch to date comprised 51.4 million sockeye, 102.9 million pinks, 20.5 million chum, 2.9 million coho and 243,000 king salmon.
