Honduras’s exports of farmed and wild shrimp in January this year achieved a total value of USD 12.4 million (EUR 10.9 million), an increase of 26.5 percent or USD 2.6 million (EUR 2.3 million), compared to the corresponding month of 2015, according to the Central Bank Honduras (BCH).
The country exported 2,150 metric tons (MT) of shrimp in the first month of 2016, an increase of 54.7 percent year-on-year. However, the average price dropped by more than 18 percent to USD 7.03 (EUR 6.20) per kg.
