Expo veterans "Think Tropical" at SENA17

Tropical Aquaculture Products has been hosting Chef Nicholas Calias (@ChefCalias) of Boston's Colonnade Hotel and Brasserie Jo, alongside Danielle Dorcil, during this year’s Seafood Expo North America / Seafood Processing North America, based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

2017 marks the company’s 21st year attending SENA. This year, it is focusing on its fresh product line, which features tilapia, organic salmon, shrimp and cod. Along with Tropical’s culinary guests, the company has also welcomed representatives from each of its tilapia farming and processing facilities in Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador at its booth (No. 333). Also on display at the show has been Tropical’s frozen value-added products, including tilapia ceviche bites, smoked tilapia, as well as shrimp and tilapia burgers.

A comprehensive social media and social engagement strategy has been deployed by the company for the show – Tropical has been encouraging attendees to snap a picture of themselves in front of its "Think Tropical" island display in the main lobby, tagging the photo with the hashtag #EatTilapia for a chance to win prizes.

Both within the exhibition and beyond it, Tropical continues to focus on sustainability and sound business ethics through 2017 and into 2018.

“Tropical and its producers are committed to providing the highest quality products. In doing so, we make every effort to ensure that environmental and social responsibilities are not jeopardized in the pursuit of this goal,” according to the company. “Certifications have been an excellent verification that Tropical's farming and processing partners are meeting the growing demand for seafood in a highly responsible manner.”

In other news, the company said it has joined forces with Cesare Regnoli & Figlio to introduce a full line of retail-ready seafood salads featuring classic Italian flavors such as white anchovies, octopus and mackerel at SENA17. Moreover, Industrial Pesquera Santa Priscila joined Tropical as Ecuador's leading processor, producer and exporter of premium quality Ecuadorian shrimp, the company said.
