Sæplast Americas adds new container for food processing

Sæplast, a supplier of food-safe containers, buggies, and pallets for the processing floor of food plants, has introduced a new size of its popular line of plastic containers.

The company plans to demo the product at the 2017 Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America in Boston, Massachusetts on 19 to 21 March.

The new Sæplast PE 750 is the third size of its PE line and offers “a more practical and user-friendly alternative to corrugated cardboard options,” according to the company.

“The ability for reuse of the container falls in line with landfill divergent efforts many companies are focusing on today,” Sæplast said in a press release. “Plus, Being of a smooth-wall, one-piece construction, food safety is assured.”

The new 750 size container is a middle size between the 630 and 875 sizes the company already offers. It is being released to offer customers additional choice and flexibility in food transportation and storage, and is available in a variety of color offerings along with optional drain holes, optional lid and can be personalized with company logos, the company said. The container can incorporate tracking options such as bar code, QR code or RFID technology, it added.

The container incorporates an ergonomic “closed-cell core” design that does not absorb liquid and prevents bacterial growth, while its one-piece construction prevents breakage and makes it easier to clean, Sæplast said.
