Findus, a producer of value-added frozen fish products based in Feltham, U.K., will officially launch into the U.S. market at Seafood Expo North America in Boston from 11 to 13 March.
A part of Nomad Foods Europe, the largest frozen foods producer in Europe, with annual sales of USD 2 billion (EUR 1.6 billion), Findus has its products listed in Metro, Sobeys, and Costco. It entered the Canadian market in 2016, and is now looking to extend its presence in North America by entering the U.S. market, according to Findus Export Director Harald Guimarães.
“Findus is all about making healthy, delicious food accessible and affordable and we believe that this suits the U.S. market very well. According to our market research, there is a very high potential for Findus fish products on both the East and West coasts of the U.S.A.,” Guimarães said. “Among our products, we are presenting ‘Jamie Oliver by Findus,’ which is a concept we have developed together with the well-known British chef to help consumers eat more fish with only natural ingredients and without any additives.”
Guimarães said the company will highlight also its new Italian seafood pasta sauces and its Steam Delicious Cod Loins at the expo, which it is attending for the second time.
Sustainability and sourcing food responsibly are key commitments for Findus, according to Guimarães. The company sources all of its fish products from fisheries that are Marine Stewardship Council-certified, and Nomad Foods is currently the largest adopter of the MSC-standard across Europe, he said.
Findus will be exhibiting booth #2917 at Seafood Expo North America.
