Keyport hires sales director, business development manager ahead of SENA

Edmonds, Washington-based Keyport, one of the country’s largest distributers of snow, king, and Dungeness crab, has hired Gerry Brajcich as its director of sales for its national accounts and William Rogers as a business development manager

Brajcich previously worked as vice president of retail sales at Southern Fisheries in Miami, Florida, and at the same position at Aqua Star in Seattle, Washington. Rogers was most recently the fresh sales director and key account manager at Icicle Seafood, and previously worked at Icicle as production and quality control manager.

Keyport CEO Mark Pedersen said both new hires represented good fits for the company.

“Gerry will be an integral part of Keyport’s sales strategy and management of national retail, restaurant and food service accounts,” Pederson said. “William brings a lot of great experiences from his time at Icicle. While we value his sales skills, William also has solid knowledge of operations, processing and quality control.”

Keyport has seen continued business growth after embarking on a series of diversification and business development strategies over the last three years, according to a company press release. With Keyport’s value-added retail and foodservice product lines expanding and growing in scale, Keyport continues to add experienced staff to support future growth.

“Keyport represents an opportunity to grow a well-respected brand and continue to build on the positive momentum in the company,” Brajcich said. “Keyport’s value-added products are unique and have been well-received in the market.

Brajcich will be joining Keyport’s team at the Seafood Expo North America, taking place 11 to 13 March. The company will be located at booth #2518 and will be hosting a private meeting room, #251, to demonstrate Keyport’s new retail products.

In his new position, Rogers will focus on selling Keyport’s value-added products to mid-market retail accounts. He will also be responsible for expanding Keyport’s finfish and fresh seafood categories.

“Keyport is dedicated to expanding its product line and bringing more innovation to market,” Rogers said. “There’s a great opportunity for growth and I am excited to join the company.”
