This edition of the Seafood2030 Forum will explore how small-scale fishery improvement projects foster responsible supply chains, environmental stewardship, and empowered coastal communities. Leaders across industry, government, and civil society will address strategic challenges like policy collaboration, infrastructure gaps, and the long-term sustainability of fishery oversight.
Agenda
As models for small-scale fishery interventions evolve to address new challenges, the opportunities to release environmental, economic, and social trapped value are evolving as well. This panel will discuss the opportunities for supply chain companies to derive a strong economic ROI for engagement with SSF improvement programs while supporting healthy communities and responsible fisheries.
Speakers:
Andre Brugger
Sustainability and Compliance Manager, Netuno
Sam Grimley
Executive Director, Sea Pact
Rene Benguerel,
Founder and Managing Director of Blueyou
Increasingly, the barriers to responsible fisheries management and healthy stocks lie outside seafood supply chains and supply chain leverage – national management plans, enforcement, stock assessments, water treatment and infrastructure, reliable services to support cold chain. This panel will discuss how new models and approaches are helping drive positive change outside supply chain leverage and how supply chains can support these efforts.
Speakers:
Pedro Ferreiro
Fisheries Governance and Livelihoods Director at the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership
Ivan Martinez
Small Scale Fisheries Senior Manager, Ocean Outcomes
Jesse Marsh
Principal and Manager, Scaling Blue and Coordinator for the FIP Community of Practice
