The Red Hook Lobster Pound food truck has been on the move since 2009, serving up Maine lobster to clientele down the coast from the Pine Tree State, mainly in Washington, D.C. and New York City.

The truck serves predominantly at festivals and events, where the atmosphere is always welcoming and oftentimes, the truck’s presence is requested, representatives of Red Hook told SeafoodSource. By nature of the city and its street regulations, it’s difficult to vend directly on the streets of New York City, said the business.

The Maine Style Lobster Roll is Red Hook’s best-selling item – it’s prepared using fresh Maine lobster meat that is mixed with the truck’s homemade, light, lemon-based mayonnaise. For the roll on its own, customers pay USD 15.95 (EUR 14.23); paired with the truck’s seafood chowder, customers pay USD 23.45 (EUR 20.92) for the full roll.

“We have developed a strong following as we have been in business since 2009. We were voted best food truck in America in 2013,” explained Red Hook.
