Last year’s second-ranked company, Chicken of the Sea, has taken over the top spot as North America’s largest seafood supplier this year. This is in no small part due to a rapidly growing frozen foods division that was founded less than a decade ago. It also doesn’t hurt that it is owned by a massive parent company, Thai Union Group, which is one of the largest seafood suppliers in the world. The company’s pouches, cans and cups of salmon, tuna, tilapia, clams, crab, mackerel, oysters, sardines, shrimp and kipper snacks are seemingly ubiquitous, with distribution across North America.
