Aquaculture feed company rebranded

The Netherlands-based aquaculture nutrition company Coppens International, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, has been rebranded Alltech Coppens with immediate effect.

Since Alltech’s acquisition of Coppens two years ago, the goal has been to establish Coppens International as the cornerstone of Alltech’s global aquaculture business, Alltech Coppens CEO Patrick Charlton said.

“By becoming Alltech Coppens, we not only retain 25 years of history and reputation — we also move forward to ensure we are more relevant globally to our customers and the wider industry,” he said. “Alltech Coppens is a solid platform on which we can grow our aqua nutrition business in the years to come.”

Over the past two years, there has been a company focus on increasing capacity, which resulted in the expansion of the Alltech Coppens Aqua Center in 2017 and the installation of a third extruder at the site. It has also expanded into new markets such as Norway, the United States, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey, as well as conducting collaboration work in Brazil.

Family-owned Alltech was founded in 1980 by Irish entrepreneur and scientist Pearse Lyons. The company is headquartered just outside of Lexington, Kentucky, U.S.A.
