Camanchaca receives two-star BAP certification

Camanchaca, a vertically integrated Chilean seafood company, recently received two stars in the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s Best Aquaculture Practices program. The processing plant and farm site that are certified are the first two-star salmon facilities in the Southern Hemisphere, according to company officials.

Camanchaca already has four certified farms in Puelche, Licha, Chonos and Mañihueico, and is working on certification for three other farms in Contao, Bahía Edwards and Punta Islotes. The company recently received BAP certification for its processing plant in Tome and plans to have all active farming sites certificated before year end.

Camanchaca produces salmon portions, mussels, mussel meats, langostino lobster tails and scallops under the Pier 33 Gourmet brand.
