Cermaq’s CEO search may take time

Cermaq ASA on Thursday announced that its board has initiated the search for a new CEO, following the resignation of Geir Isaksen, who accepted the position as CEO of NSB, Norway’s largest transportation group, in mid-June.

Isaksen has been with the Norwegian company, one of the world’s largest salmon producers, for 15 years.

However, the board said it’s “unlikely” that a new CEO will be appointed by the end of August when Isaksen departs for NSB. In the interim, CFO Tore Valderhaug has been named acting CEO, effective 25 July, though he will maintain his position as CFO.

Also on Thursday, Cermaq released its second-quarter results.
