Globefish, a unit of the United Nations’ Fisheries and Aquaculture Department, has become a non-producer member of the International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organization (IFFO).
“With three decades of experience in gathering, assessing, analysing and disseminating up-to-date marketing and trade information worldwide, Globefish’s work perfectly partners with that of IFFO’s and we look forward to continuing to work closely together in the future,” IFFO said in a statement.
Globefish is the informational arm of the FAO’s fisheries department, producing publications with updated pricing and other data. IFFO said it functions as an accredited FAO observer and also collaborates with FAO officials on a number of projects, including work with FAO and the China Society of Fishery on improving data on Chinese production of fishmeal and fish oil.
