GAA names new Asia-Pacific coordinator

The Global Aquaculture Alliance on Thursday announced that aquaculture expert Ken Corpron has been selected as the new Asia-Pacific coordinator for group’s Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP.
Corpron has more than 15 years of experience in the global aquaculture industry, in addition to nearly 10 years of experience in the aquaculture feed and farming industry in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

He previously served as general manager of the B.P. Nutrition Aquaculture Center in Songkhla, Thailand, where he worked closely with the Aquastar integrated black tiger shrimp-farming project. He also advised shrimp farmers in India.

Corpron also managed a 1,850-acre Aqualma black tiger shrimp farm in Madagascar, which established the first application of the French Label Rouge program for shrimp and passed the BAP shrimp farm certification. He also assisted with initial efforts of the BAP program to certify shrimp farms in Thailand.
