Gearing up for GOAL

Organizers made last-minute preparations Monday morning in Paris for GOAL 2013, the annual seafood farming conference sponsored by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA).

The GAA has about 300 people pre-registered for the event, according to Steve Hedlund, GAA’s communications manager. Attendees will be taking in lectures, participating in breakout sessions, and networking in social events, he said.

“It’s not just about the conference itself,” Hedlund said. “It’s the experience.”

This week, SeafoodSource, as media partner with the GAA, will be providing full coverage, including stories and on-camera interviews with aquaculture leaders. We’ll be discussing the challenges of EMS in southeast Asia, trends in farmed seafood in the retail sector, and possible emerging markets in farmed seafood, including northern Africa and the Middle East.

Keep watching SeafoodSource for full coverage of the event.
