HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries (HQS) announced on Monday that it began generating revenue from its feed-mill operations in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The Seattle-based company, which raises tilapia in China’s Hainan province, said it conducted a successful sales outreach to the cooperative farming community.
“We are pleased by the response from our new clients,” said Norbert Sporns, the company’s president and CEO. “HQS’ state-of-the-art feed mill operations provide us with superior, all-natural, vitamin enriched feed, enhancing the quality of the aquaculture biomass produced for our fish and personal healthcare products. We executed on our product quality and food-safety goals. We continue to achieve greater supply-chain efficiencies as we execute on our strategic growth initiatives in 2010 and beyond.”
HQS’ seafood-processing and feed-mill facilities are ISO 9001 and 22000 certified.
The company expects to announce fourth-quarter and 2009 results in March.
