Larkin joins aquaculture charity board

Diversified Communications Executive VP Mary Larkin is joining the board of directors of Aquaculture without Frontiers, according to an announcement from the group.

Larkin, in addition to her role at Diversified, also serves on the board of directors for the National Fisheries Institute, the Seafood Industry Research Fund, and the Center for Grieving Children in Portland, Maine.

Aquaculture without Frontiers Executive Director Roy Palmer said he was “thrilled” to announce Larkin was joining the board. She will serve along with John Forster, Cormac O’Sullivan, Gorjan Nikolik, Dave Conley and Palmer.

“Aquaculture without Frontiers is the seafood industry’s only global independent volunteer charity and Mary’s impressive credentials and work ethic will add enormous value to our industry knowledge and experience,” Palmer said. “Mary’s leadership in the growth of Diversified Communications and in the promotion of seafood should not be underestimated. Her understanding of all of the intricacies of communications, organization and dealing with people from all countries will be invaluable in AwF’s future planning.”

Diversified Communications is the parent company of SeafoodSource, and Palmer is a regular blog contributor to the site.
