Marks & Spencer recognizes Scottish fish farmer

U.K. retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) presented Orkney fish farm manager Richard Darbyshire of Scottish Sea Farms with its M&S Champion of Champions award for outstanding performance in his industry.

Darbyshire won the M&S Champion of Champions award earlier this year and has already attended a sponsored course at Cranfield University School of Management in February. He was presented with his trophy on Wednesday. The award is part of the annual M&S Farming for the Future awards, established six years ago to celebrate standout producers in the M&S supply chain. Darbyshire won the award for the establishment and successful operation of a new Lochmuir Salmon farm on Eday.

“Our company has just been named the Best Aquaculture Company of 2015 at the Crown Estate Scottish Marine Aquaculture awards so this, together with recognition from a quality retailer like M&S, means it is really shaping up to be a fantastic year for us,” he said.
