New CEO at Scottish Salmon Co.

The Scottish Salmon Co. on Tuesday announced that Dr. Stewart McLelland will take over as the company’s CEO in January, succeeding current CEO Bill Hazeldean, who’s held the position for the past 12 months.

Currently the COO, Stewart will “provide the company with continuity to develop the plans for strategic growth and fulfill our long-term strategy to increase and balance out our total production volume to around 40,000 tons per annum by 2015-16,” said the Scottish Salmon Co.

To achieve this, the company will grow organically through existing anf new farming sites, and it will make significant investments through its value-chain infrastructure, including freshwater and processing.

Hazeldean is leaving the company to concentrate on his interests with Associated Seafoods Ltd.
