Nutreco ends divestment process

Dutch animal and fish feed company Nutreco is abandoning its plans to sell off its operations in Spain and Portugal, according to a statement from the company.

Nutreco first announced in February this year that it was focusing on its core businesses, and that would involve, among other things, divestment of some of its foreign holdings.

But in the 11 June statement, Nutreco said it will not sell its meat and feed businesses in Spain and Portugal after all.

“After a comprehensive process it has become apparent that at the current time no agreement at a fair valuation and in the best interests of all stakeholders can be reached,” Nutreco said in its statement.

Instead, the company is describing the operations as a “new business unit” called Compound Feed & Meat Iberia.
