Nutreco reports higher 1H year results

Dutch fish feed and animal nutrition firm Nutreco is reporting a higher H1 2014 than last year, with revenue and earnings figures both up.

"We are pleased to report a satisfying first half year operating result of EUR 108.2 million (USD 145.8 million) which has been achieved due to better performances in all segments,” said Knut Nesse, Nutreco CEO.

The company reported EUR 2.4 billion (USD 3.2 billion), an increase of 2.6 percent over 2013, and earnings before interest and taxes before exceptional items total EUR 108.2 million, a 15 percent jump compared to 2013.

All three of the company’s major segments — animal nutrition, fish feed and compound feed & meat — reported positive increases in H1 2014. In all cases, the company cited market improvements as drivers.

The company estimates, based on H1 performance, that the total EBITA for 2014 will at least match that of 2013.
