Skretting opens fish feed plant in Turkey

Norwegian fish feed producer Skretting announced on Thursday that it opened a production plant in Güllük, Turkey.

The plant was constructed at an existing Skretting warehouse and will produce feeds for freshwater trout and marine species, including sea bream and sea bass. The majority of production will be for domestic use, but some will be exported.

"We are starting production with one extruder line, newly-built to meet latest standards," said Levent Kayi, general manager of Skretting Turkey.

"Using quality raw materials and established Skretting formulations, we will provide feeds that match the high nutritional and physical quality our customers expect from Skretting," explained Kayi. "I have no doubt we will expand our market share. A modular design for the plant means infrastructure is in place to add second and third extruder lines quickly as demand increases."
