– Mona Bolin has been named the Chief Operating Officer of Arctic Seafarm’s new land-based aquaculture operation in Nesna, Norway, scheduled to begin production in August 2025.
Bolin joins Arctic Seafarm after spending three years as Head of Operational Excellence at Austin, Texas, U.S.A.-headquartered T1 Energy, a sustainable energy company. Prior to that, she worked as a Lean and Process Manager at CELSA Group for fourteen years.
Arctic Seafarm first achieved regulatory approval for the RAS farm, the company’s first land based project, which is located within Norway’s Nesna Industrial Park, in 2021. In 2025, Norwegian Greentech, a maritime water systems provider, announced that it would be supplying the site with UV- and filter-based water treatment systems.
– Daniel Jakobsson is the new CEO of Icelandic fish farmer Arctic Fish.
Jakobsson, the company said, joined Arctic Fish in 2021 as Chief Business Development Officer.
Chairman of the Board Øyvind Oaland expressed his enthusiasm for the announcement, saing that "Icelandic salmon farming is still in an early phase, and our continued success depends on operational excellence rooted in strong animal welfare, environmental responsibility, sound financials, and the safety and wellbeing of our dedicated employees. Daníel has extensive knowledge of all aspects of our business and will be based in Ísafjörður."
Jakobsson added that he was excited to work for a company that is “part of a sustainable industry, producing healthy food for a growing global population.”
The company said that its current CEO Stein Ove Tveiten would remain in an advisory capacity until 1 June to ensure a smooth transition.
–Asbjørn Warvik Rørtveit will lead the Norwegian Seafood Council’s new Middle Eastern efforts.
On LinkedIn, Rørtveit said that he was “looking forward” to the post and hoping to “work together with the exporters to increase Norwegian seafood exports to a very exciting region in strong growth. Together with local value chain[s] we will build strong marketing campaigns to increase knowledge and demand for Norwegian seafood.”
He also said that he would be making his first trip to the UAE and Saudi Arabia in May.
Rørtveit holds a PhD, specializing in consumer behavior. He has worked for the Norwegian Seafood Council since 2009, rising from a project manager to the Director of South East Asian programming before taking his current role.
–Vincent Swinburn Joanna has been named general manager of Chilean salmon farmer Salmones Yadran.
The role was filled until recently by Benjamín Holmes Cheyre, who recently stepped down after serving the company since 2015. The news was reported in Spanish-language trade publication SalmonExpert.
The company praised Holmes’s work at the company, saying that “We deeply appreciate the commitment and professionalism with which Benjamín has led our organization over the years. His management has been characterized by significant progress and challenges, leaving a meaningful impact on the corporate culture of Yadran and solidifying sustainability as a key roadmap for the company’s future development.”
Of his departure, Holmes said that “Yadran has been my home for more than 15 years, a time full of learning and shared achievements. For personal reasons, the time has come to close this important chapter. I leave deeply grateful for having worked alongside such a dedicated and talented team. I am confident that, under Vicente’s leadership, Yadran will continue to advance with strength and vision on the path we have charted together.”
Swinburn has worked for the Puerto Montt-based company since 2001, and the promotion, he said, gives him a “deep sense of responsibility and optimism.”
“My management will focus on continuing to optimize our production process, always honoring the reputation for quality and excellence that distinguishes us," Swinburn said. "I fully trust that the dedication, experience, and passion of each of our employees will be the essential pillars for achieving our goals.
