 – Aquaculture technology firm Innovasea has announced that Daniel Uribe-Aravena is the new technical manager for the firm’s Chilean operations.

“Daniel’s industry expertise, customer-first mindset, and problem-solving make him another strong addition to our growing team,” Innovasea Managing Director for Chile Jorge Bravo said. “His efforts will help strengthen our offerings and ensure that we continue to meet the evolving needs of Chilean salmon farmers.”

Uribe-Aravena’s work experience includes serving as the head of AI technologies for aquaculture technology firm AKVA group Chile. Prior to that, he also worked as a software consultant at AKVA and aquaculture conservation firm ScaleAQ. He also served in on-site production roles for several companies, including Mowi Chile.

As technical representative for Innovasea, he will lead the company’s AI initiatives, including technology dubbed BiomassPro that tracks size and weight of fish stocks to optimize production and reduce feeding costs in the Chilean salmon market.

“I am excited to join Innovasea and support its mission of forward-thinking innovation,” Uribe-Aravena said. “This new challenge excites me as it combines what I love most: technology, applied sciences, and the opportunity for ongoing learning in a constantly evolving field. I am eager for the chance to contribute and grow alongside a great team that shares a passion for advancing the industry.”

– Former Nova Sea CEO Tom Eirik Aasjord has become the first group chief executive of Trondheim, Norway-based genomics company AquaGen, effective January 2026.

“I look forward to joining AquaGen and contributing to the further development of a company with a unique professional position and an important mission,” Aasjord said. “The structure now being established gives the group a solid foundation for further growth, and I am excited to work closely with the company’s skilled employees, as well as the board and owners, to lift AquaGen into its next phase.”

Aasjord was the CEO of Nova Sea for six years and has also worked as managing director and chair at Norwegian broodstock company Nordnorsk Stamfisk.

AquaGen Chair Odd Magne Rødseth said Aasjord was chosen as CEO for his “strong operational background, deep industry experience, and a documented track record of leading both operational and strategic transformation.”

“We are very pleased to welcome Tom Eirik Aasjord as our new group CEO,” Rødseth said. “With his values, broad industry experience, and clear strategic understanding, he is very well-equipped to lead AquaGen forward. The appointment strengthens the group’s capacity for innovation and operational performance and gives us a solid foundation for the future.”
