Kroger meat and seafood director joins Giant Eagle

Travis Riepenhoff, former meat and seafood director for Kroger, recently began working at Giant Eagle as its vice president of fresh merchandising.

Riepenhoff “joined the Giant Eagle family recently as our vice president of fresh merchandising, overseeing our produce, meat, seafood and floral businesses,” Dan Donovan, senior director of corporate communications at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.-based Giant Eagle, told SeafoodSource.

Riepenhoff has 20 years of retail experience in helping develop, implement, and facilitate merchandising strategies and associates, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Riepenhoff served as Kroger’s director of meat and seafood from June 2020 through June 2022. Previously, he served as a district manager, a fresh meat merchandiser, meat/seafood regional sales plan manager, and several other positions at Kroger.
