Maritech, Skaginn 3X announce new hires

Seafood software provider Maritech and processing system manufacturer Skaginn 3X have both announced new hires.

Maritech has hired Thomas Brevik to the position of logistics director. Brevik joined the company on 1 April. Brevik was most recently the innovation and development director in Eika Kredittbank, a division of Norwegian finance company Eika Gruppen. Prior to that, he was a consultant in the finance industry and a member of the Norwegian Armed Forces.

“We are very satisfied that Thomas chose Maritech,” Maritech CEO Janne T. Morstøl said. “In terms of his experience, professional skills and as a person. We have a great team and appreciate recruiting attractive candidates to our company and region. To continue our expansion, we need the best employees and are always on the search for talents who would like to join us on our journey.”

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Brevik has started off at the company working from home.

“I could not let this opportunity pass,” Brevik said. “Maritech has great potential, and I am pleased to have been offered a key role leading the further development within the logistics field. I am also happy to return with my family to the county where I grew up, where we are closer to the nature and to our relatives than we were in Oslo.”

At Skaginn 3X, Viktoría Alfreðsdóttir was hired to the position of regional sales manager for Russia and Asia. Alfreðsdóttir is a Ukrainian native – fluent in Russian, English, Icelandic, and Ukranian – and will work out of the company’s office in Reykjavik.

“Viktoria will make an excellent addition to the team here at Skaginn 3X. It is great to have someone join the team with a completely new perspective and fresh ideas,” Pétur Jakob Pétursson, director of sales operations for Russia and Asia, said. “Due to our successful projects in the Russian Far East, we have seen a tremendous increase in demand for our products and solutions from both the Russian and Asian markets. Viktoria’s cultural knowledge and language abilities as well as her strong background in in-depth analysis into market needs, will open up plenty of doors for us in these markets.”

Alfreðsdóttir has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Reykjavík University, as well as a master’s degree in brand management from Polimoda in Florence, Italy.

According to Skaginn, the new hire “comes as a result of increased business opportunities in both Russia and Asia.”
