People moves: Jason Paine leaves Multi X, Seafarers hires Justin Baugh as VP of retail

- Medley, Florida, U.S.A.,-based Seafarers has hired Justin Baugh as its new vice president of retail. Seafarers said it created the new role to expand the company’s growth in the retail sector and enhance its responsible sourcing commitments and goals. Previously, Baugh worked at The Fishin' Company for a decade, most recently serving as senior director of sustainability and traceability, working with retailers including Wal-Mart, Ahold Delhaize, Safeway, ALDI, Albertsons, and Meijer.
- Jason Paine, longtime U.S. operations manager for Chilean salmon farming Multi X, left his position effective 24 February. Pain joined Multiexport Foods in 2001 as vice president of sales and become U.S. general manager in 2003, overseeing significant sales growth and an expansion into consumer and branded products, according to the company.
- Insect-based fish and animal feed company Protix has announced Lynn De Proft will be joining the company to aid it in its next phase of growth. She was appointed as CFO of the Dongen, Netherlands-located company in January 2023.
- Tampa Maid Foods, based in Tampa, Florida, U.S.A., has made shifts in its leadership team, the company announced in a press release. Its new vice president of sales and marketing will be CJ Iacovelli, who previously worked as senior director of national sales at Lavazza Premium Coffees Corp.; Its new vice president of quality and food safety will be Bret Mattison, who held various roles at McCain Foods over the past 28 years; Its new director of research and development will be Trey Burmester, who most recently led the culinary innovation team at KFC restaurants, a division of YUM Brands.
