People moves: William Davies named Sofina Europe CSR manager, Thai Union finds new international marketing director

- William Davies has been appointed the new group CSR manager for Grimsby, U.K.-based Sofina Europe. Davies previously served as sustainable sourcing and CSR manager for The Big Prawn Co. and as fisheries, aquaculture, and CSR manager for Hilton Seafoods.

- On 7 February, Stronger America Through Seafood (SATS) announced the hiring of a new campaign manager, Drue Banta Winters. Banta Winters was previously policy director for the American Fisheries Society, SATS said in a press release.

- Thai Union’s marine proteins business unit appointed Vikki Babb in January as its new international marketing director, according to Grocery Trader. Babb previously held positions at Coca-Cola, Tesco, and InBev.  

- New Bedford, Massachusetts, U.S.A-based Northern Wind announced the appointment of James “Jamie” Dwyer as new chief commercial officer. In a press release, Northern Wind said Dwyer brings more than 30 years of seafood industry experience and will work with the executive team to develop a go-to-market strategy. He will also lead commercial strategies, customer relations, marketing, market development, and global sales activities for Northern Wind, which was recently acquired by ACON Investments.
