Salmon Evolution appoints new CFO
Salmon Evolution announced it has appointed Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen, formerly of Hofseth International, as the company’s new CFO.
The appointment comes after the position has been vacant since the previous CFO, Håkon André Berg – who was hired in November 2019 – was appointed to the position of CEO. The appointment also comes two months after the company appointed Trond Valderhaug to the position of chief commercial officer.
Schaug-Pettersen served as Hofseth International’s senior vice president finance and business development since 2016. Prior to joining Hofseth, he worked nine years in corporate finance with First Securities/Swedbank.
Schaug-Pettersen will take the new roll on 1 January, 2021.
“I am very pleased to include Trond Håkon in the management team of Salmon Evolution,” Berg said. “He has a broad background from both the capital markets and the seafood industry, and I am sure that he will add significant value to our company from day one.”
Salmon Evolution began construction earlier this year of a new, NOK 1.3 billion (USD 140 million, EUR 119 million) land-based salmon farm in an abandoned quarry at Indre Harøy on the west coast of Norway. The new land-based aquaculture facility, which the company expects will be the largest in Europe, is using flow-through aquaculture, rather than a recirculating aquaculture system.
