Canadian pizza chain Panago Pizza yesterday announced that all of its seafood menu items are certified by Ocean Wise.
The chain offers shrimp, oysters and anchovies as toppings at its 160-plus locations.
Ocean Wise is a Vancouver Aquarium conservation program created to help restaurant operators and their customers make environmentally friendly seafood choices. Sustainable seafood assessments are based on recommendations and research by leading marine conservation organizations such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch Program and Sea Choice Canada.
Panago's partnership with the Vancouver Aquarium coincided with the company's recent overhaul its menu ingredients to include no artificial flavors or colors and no trans fat or MSG.
