China fish oil supplier earns FoS certification

KinOmega, global manufacturer and supplier of ultra-pure and highly concentrated marine omega-3 for nutritional and pharmaceutical applications, has earned Friend of the Sea (FoS) certification.

KinOmega sources its raw material only from FoS approved origins including tuna trimmings and Peruvian and European anchovy fisheries.

There is no endangered species bycatch as a result of KinOmega’s process and marine protected areas are respected. Chain of custody is in place from vessel to finished product, ensuring separation between approved and not approved origins.

“Our customers and omega-3 end consumers are concerned about the potential overexploitation of fish stocks and consequently they appreciate our efforts to source only from approved sustainable fisheries and trimmings,” said Daniel Zhang, KinOmega VP.  “We requested Friend of the Sea to verify and confirm our compliance to sustainability practices, as Friend of the Sea has become the industry standard for this scope.”
