Seafood Champions finalists announced

SeaWeb’s Seafood Champions finalists were announced Tuesday during the opening session of the Seafood Summit 2011 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Seafood Champions are nominated annually and recognize individuals and companies for outstanding leadership in promoting environmentally responsible seafood.

Selected from more than 50 nominees, this year’s finalists are: Robert Clark, executive chef, C Restaurant, and Harry Kambolis, CEO, Kambolis Group, Vancouver;  Phil Gibson, seafood group director, Safeway, U.S.; Dune Lankard, founder and chairman, Eyak Preservation Council, Alaska, U.S.; Steve Phillips, president and CEO, Phillips Foods and Seafood Restaurant, Baltimore, Md., U.S.; Olivier Roellinger, vice president, Relais & Chateaux, Paris; Peter Weeden, chef, Paternoster Chop House, London; Falmouth Fishselling Co., Cornwall, U.K.; Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers Assoc., Olympia, Wash., U.S.

The award winners will be announced at the International Boston Seafood Show in March.
