Selfridges to source with Southbank Fresh Fish

British seafood supplier Southbank Fresh Fish has signed a partnership agreement with Selfridges & Co. to bring seafood to the well-known Oxford Street location.

Southbank’s contract is effective 1 July. In a statement, Nicola Waller, Selfridges’ director of food, said the company is committed to ocean conservation, which led to the partnering with Southbank.

“We are really proud to work with Southbank Fresh Fish,” she said. “They have an enviable reputation and heritage of supplying some of London's most demanding and discerning chefs and restaurants. I have no doubt that the Southbank team’s passion and expertise will enhance our fish counter and provide an exceptional service.”

Southbank’s fish, according to the statement, will bear the sustainability label from the Marine Stewardship Council.

“Selfridges places very strong emphasis on sustainability and we feel this contract recognises Southbank’s outstanding work in that field,” said Matthew Couchman, sales manager with Southbank. “It is clear that consumers want to buy seafood that adheres to strict ethical and environmental guidelines and we will be perfectly placed to provide the comprehensive, hands-on assistance that they need.”
