Thailand-based Asian Alliance International is the latest tuna processor to join the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation.
The addition marks the 19th industry partner for the conservation organization.
Founded in 2009, ISSF advocates for improved fishing methods, funds scientific advancement and takes direct action to spur change. The coalition comprises tuna processors, marine scientists and the World Wildlife Fund.
“As an international coalition designed to improve a global industry, the added participation of Asian Alliance energizes our collective sustainability efforts,” said Susan Jackson, ISSF president. “We have more than doubled our membership since 2009, which is encouraging for the work that remains in fisheries management.”
