Tradex gets RFM certified, seeks MSC renewal

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has begun an audit for recertification for Tradex Foods, and the company also announced a new certification under the Responsible Fisheries Managament (RFM) Global Trust.

Tradex is already MSC certified for trading and storage of a number of MSC-certified Alaska fish, including pollock, cod, haddock and Sockeye salmon. SCS Global Services is conducting the audit, which precedes recertification. So far, according to Tradex, the audit shows the company exceeds MSC standards.

Meanwhile, Tradex has also received certification under the FAO-based RFM chain of custody standards for many Alaskan salmon species, including Chinook, Sockeye and chum.
