Consumer advocacy group FISHforAMERICA has announced it will be attending the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council’s June meeting in Pensacola, Fla.
The meeting will revolve around new allocation changes between the commercial and recreational sectors.
The group, which describes itself as representing “all 330 million Americans,” will be there, according to its statement, to counter the council member groups that FISHforAMERICA claims are representing small special interests.
“It is apparent to all involved that these member groups have positioned themselves on the Gulf Council as well as other Councils to reward their members with the lion’s share of the American citizen’s allocation,” the group said in its statement.
