Giant Food stores has issued a product recall of Gold Coast Fresh Crab Spread amid fears of Listeria contamination.
According to an announcement on Giant’s website, the 8-ounce products have a UPC code of 83355500325, and an expiration date of 31 January 2013. Customers may return purchased products to the store for a full refund.
So far, Giant has heard no reports of illnesses due to the disease, which can have severe and even deadly symptoms, especially in infants and the elderly.
Giant operates grocery stores in Delaware, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
