King & Prince earns highest level for BRC food safety

King & Prince Seafood has earned British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification under the Global Standard for Food Safety.

After a review of the company’s operational systems and procedures, documentation, and a comprehensive plant audit, King & Prince’s production facilities in both Brunswick, Ga. and Redmond, Wash., were awarded certification with a grade of “A,” the highest available.  This is the third consecutive year King & Prince has achieved certification with an “A” for its Brunswick facility and the first year for the Redmond facility.

“We are committed to deliver the highest quality products to our customers, and are pleased our high safety standards and dedication to adhere to best practices have been recognized with this certification,” said Tracy McConnell, King & Prince director of quality assurance.

BRC audits are based on seven sub-categories: senior management commitment, food safety plan (HACCP), food safety and quality management system, site standards, product control, process control, and personnel.
