Morey’s Seafood gets BRC certification

Morey’s Seafood International has earned British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification for its specialty products processing facility in Motley, Minn.

The BRC evaluates both manufacturers and retailers in the food industry, based on  food safety, quality control, site standards and other categories. The Morey’s facility received an “A” grade, the highest available from the BRC.

“While Morey’s has always excelled in food safety, this BRC Certification just makes us better,” said Jim Walstrom, the company’s president. “It represents our commitment and promise to deliver the quality and safety that our clients and consumers expect from us now and into the future.”

The company sells seafood products to retail and foodservice clients nationwide. Earlier this year, Morey’s processing and distribution center, located in Golden Valley, Minn., also received an “A” grade, and earned BRC certification.
