When you pay a visit to C-Ray Lobster, you get the traditional Maine lobster shack treatment: “No inside seating, no reservations and definitely no fuss,” declares the family-run business on its website.
Visitors are treated to a “heaping helping” of hospitality and fresh, Maine seafood when they stop by the Bar Harbor, Maine-based shack, which serves up lobster dinners, lobster rolls, steamer clams, mussels and the day's catch from Mount Desert Island. All of the business’ lobster is brought directly to the store from the traps, and the steamers, mussels and cherrystones are harvested by hand each morning by the owner of the shop. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the shack also operates a bakery known for its wild Maine blueberry pies and new whoopie pie ice cream sandwiches.
C-Ray’s lobster roll sandwich includes 5 ounces of freshly picked lobster meat "mixed with our secret mayo seasoning served on a hot toasted brioche roll with chips and pickle,” according to its menu.
